Today i made a simple trap to defend your chests with. When a player opens the chest four blocks from the ceiling are moved by pistons and then four dispensers shoot fire charges down on the player.

I will try :) but the 12 pistons that move the ceiling blocks need all that redstone. if you take that part out it ends up being a tiny device if you want it to be more resource friendly.
