The Roland anti-aircraft missile system was a joint development project between Germany and France. It could be mounted on various vehicles, including a modified Marder chassis. It was used between 1979 and 2007 and was replaced by more modern air defense systems such as the American Patriot system which can engage multiple targets simultaneously.
