The Eurofighter Typhoon is a highly maneuverable multi-role combat aircraft. It is used by 9 nations and is constantly being modernized. First designed as a pure air superiority fighter, it was converted to a multi-role aircraft shortly after entering service. Development began with a team of 5 nations in 1983. France, which was the 5th nation, dropped out of the program due to disagreements and went on to develop the Dassault Rafale alone, an aircraft similar to the Eurofighter.
