A simple redstone device I made. Stand on the glowstone and shoot an arrow at the Dispenser. Fortunes:

Eye Of Ender: You will meet a tall, dark stranger.

Diamond: It's your lucky day!

Iron Ingot: You will have the resilience of Iron.

Gold Ingot: Something butter-related will happen...

Cactus Dye: You are prickly, like cactus.

Fireball: BAD OMEN!

Flint: You are very sharp...

Emerald: You are about to be robbed by a Testificate!

Gunpowder: Ssssomeone doesn't like your houssse...

Feel free to constructively criticize me!

Additional Notes

To get the effect I did, use FVDisco's excellent texturepack; OcD.

You could redo this using command blocks now maybe. Make more types of results. The hard part would be getting one random result from one button press. It wouldn't be that hard though. I suck at redstone, and I can think of one or two ways to do it.

I think you could just type /say (message) into the box thingie. I didn't use command blocks much either, so that's just my guess.

Well, the dispenser shoots out random items when a redstone charge is sent through, so the drop is randomized. I might do a tutorial on the shoot-charge system too.
