From the moment you spawn, you will notice the piercing, hazardous, permanent cold.

In Frosinnríki, the snow never stops, the ice never thaws, and the hearts of those who lurk in the shadows never warm.


In this icy, unforgiving world, your fellow players are likely to turn on you, and if you do form alliances, you had better make sure that they don't stab you in the back with an icy dagger.


Working towards a genuine alliance however, is the only way to protect yourself against the elements, monsters, and other players. Once your settlement is large and active enough, you may apply for protected status. Only then do you have a chance to beat this baltic world.

The World

We are nowhere near finished building and configuring this yet, but the idea is that there are very few protected, safe zones, and most players will have to go at it alone, and hide in the dense woods.



The towns you do encounter will usually have a few shops where you will be able to replenish your supplies and sate your hunger.



We also have plans to add various structures and buildings throughout the world which can be used to seek refuge from the elements, and monsters.

The Mechanics

COLD

We are lucky enough to have a 100% exclusive and custom plugin on our server called "Winter Survival". This adds a "cold" mechanic, and makes survival much more interesting!

Players have to protect themselves against the effects of hypothermia, by wearing a full set of armor, and/or crafting the custom "heatstone" item. Even then, when that heatstone goes cold, your armor will only go so far.

Campfires are essential for survival, as the heatstones will need to be warmed again.


Time to warm heatstone: 15 seconds standing near a heat source (campfire, fire, lava)
Time until you take damage unprotected: 15 seconds
Time until you take damage with full armour: 1 ⅓ minutes (100 seconds)
Severity of damage each time: 1.0 (should be half a heart)



Craft the custom heatstone item like so (you can buy a lava bucket from the blacksmith in Kaldetraer):



PvP

Rewards will be given whenever you kill another player, and your murderous nature will be announced to everyone in the map!


The rewards will be progressively increased if you go on a killstreak.
