needs pressure plates and redstone leading out of a thick cable out the back. Use 0 tick repeaters right before the end of the cable for a no-delay controlling experience.

I wasn't joking. There is this one piston-based 0 tick repeater that you can build. (on vanilla minecraft!)

I just laughed at the idea of my trying to jump around playing a Gamecube game. I would also have to make this larger scale and I'm too lazy to do that. :P
