One of the most famous buildings in the world, the Houses of Parliament (The Palace of Westminster is its formal name) is the centre on UK politics. It houses the House of Commons (where elected MPS go) and the House of Lords (where unexpected Lords and Ladies go). The original was built in the 1066s but was burnt down due to a fire in the 1800s. It was later rebuilt in 1876. It is also home to the Big Ben, the most famous clock tower in the world.
