Cool build, diamond! The roof seems really wack though and you may want to add more detail.

There is a simple way to do them atleast for me. Just start by making an out side border around the house and build up on it. Check out my project Ersion Sea Side Village if you would like to see what I mean.

Nowadays I just make a row of steps and copy it with MCEdit and double it until I have an entire length of roof.
