NPC Metropolis (NPC Village Improvement!) Minecraft Map
I'm currently working on improving a village from a cruddy mess to a beautiful NPC metropolis (if that's even possible). Just thought I'd keep you wonderful people updated on my progress, and then I'll put up the download link once I've finished. Give me suggestions on anything you think I should add and if it's a good idea, I'll add it to my to-do list. :D Stay tuned!

UPDATE: I haven't worked on this village since August of 2015. Finally, in March of 2016, I revisit it and continue working on it after months of doing nothing! Here's what I've done:

Made some finishing touches and tweaks to the village, made two other destinations for the Underground Train Station and monorail-style Minecart tracks leading to them. Moved the entire village to a non-superflat world and fixed all the signs. Wrote an introductory book to get you started (which happens to be the 1st floor of Town Hall), transferred the world from 1.8.9 to 1.9, and put the world save up for download! Yippee! :D

If you open the world to LAN enabling cheats, you can switch to Creative Mode :)

(Otherwise it's locked on Survival to discourage "cheating" with Creative)
