The west coast of Ireland is harsh and jagged from being constantly beaten by the Atlantic Ocean, this map is of a small area of Clifden and the surrounding mountains.

Details:
  • Location: Clifden, western coastline of Ireland.

  • Time taken to make: 2-4hrs
  • Heightmap used: Yes.
  • Size: 3,000 x 3,000

Uses:
  • Building: Clifden is known as a tourist hotspot for it's mountains and cliffs, you could make a hotel or holiday resort tucked away if you wanted or a cabin in the wilderness.

  • Survival: This map has everything you need for a survival world aside from an End Portal. You are perfectly able to go to the nether and collect all the ores aside from [maybe] emerald.

.rar is the exact same as .zip. It's like getting an image .jpg and asking for a .jpeg.

Can you msg me what program you use to get these heightmaps, I might use the same one. Though right now Im using world machine a lot XD

I use World Machine and World Painter. Usually I just import an image of the place I want to make onto world painter, fill in the outline and then export that as a height map. Then I put that height map into World Machine and add in mountains and rivers etc. then export that out as a height map and put it into world painter again and fix it up while adding in trees etc. Doesn't take that long though.

ah, there are programs out there that allow you to take heightmaps out of places using satellite imaging and such, and from there I usually put that into world machine and add the effects, but yea I see what ya do, I likey :)

Yes, I've seen those but they are usually not the areas I want to use.
