Don't retire it! It still has heaps of hope! Use MCedit go into the world and do Ctrl I and then change the seed untill you get a good seed! DON'T GIVE UP!

Thats not completely true, ALL of my custom terrain maps have ores in them, they came out REALLY WELL!
