Well, this is a bit of a surprise, i guess.
I announced this build in 2014 and also declared it "cancelled" that year. Not because i lost interest in building it at the time, but because i thought the world save was deleted. A month or two ago i found it and have been considering posting it for download. As i continue working on my current projects, here it is.
Keep in mind this project is 6 years old and that will show. It's not realistic or very detailed. I'm not claiming it's my best work, nor am i claiming it is up to date. It's just a relic from when i first joined PMC, nothing more, nothing less. Granted, i don't think it's horrible (except for the houses. Yikes!), but you get what i'm saying.
-------
This is the 2nd themed town i have built in Minecraft, The first was a WWII Era German city (which is complete and up for download here). I love building towns that take place in specific countries and years, and for my 2nd city i wanted to build something American. At first i wanted to make a map that showcases a city during the Great Depression, but i changed my mind and went for a '50s atmosphere.
This one has been really fun to build, and it is coming along faster than my German city (which took 5 weeks to complete).
Structures completed so far:
* Diner (Loosely based on TouristHistories' design)
* Book Store
* Pet Store
* F.W Woolworth Co. store (From a chain of stores popular in the U.S between 1879 and the 1960s)
* Texaco gas station
* Coffee House
* Movie Theater
* Lykin County Police Department
* County Fair (With ferris wheel, rollercoaster, food stands, etc)
* U.S Military Recruitment Center
* Lykinville Grocery Stores
* Lykinville Fish Market
* Bar
* Lykinville Bank
* Drive-In Movie Theater
* Tunnel
* Bridge (built over a river i made with MCEdit)
* Opening gate to Subdivision
* Subdivision (4 houses completed so far, 30+ planned)
* Residential Sales Office
* Motel (Replica of a 1950s era motel in Montana called the Vista Motel)
* McDonalds restauraunt (With classic "Golden Arches" design)
