Hello all :) The Mack super pumper was a massive fire pumper built by FDNY during the 1960's the New York city fire department was facing several problems, with buildings in NYC growing taller, water, and equipment becoming insufficient to extinguish large fires. Which would result in the funding to build a huge fire pumper capable of the largest fires. Built around a Mack F series truck. Pulling around a Napier-Deltic diesel engine for the pumping unit. The engine once used in marine application during ww2, produced 2,400 Horsepower.

The pumper could pump from 8 hydrants at once, or from a body of water. Which than could pump water at 10,000 Gallons a minute, and could throw water 600ft in any direction! Working at full throttle. The engine would use up 137 gallons of diesel a hour! Supplying water to three "satellite" trucks, which did nothing more than carry hose, and had a water cannon to combat large fires.
