I been wanting to build this crane for a LONG time. The Manitowoc 4100W lattice-boom crawler crane, I was around 10 yrs old first time I saw it, How tall it was in the city. And just KNEW it was going to fall over when it laid the boom down. It was something to watch. Now that I built it my PROBLEM is I built it with Chroma Hill pack 128x and when I changed to BPS HD 1.1 everything was ALL wrong. Colors of blocks everything. It will be a while before I can change it all around and have a Schematic download ready. But I wanted to post it, see what everyone thinks.
The Manitowoc 4100W lattice-boom crawler crane was the company flagship crane, It's a famous crane, Was one of the most popular cranes Manitowoc ever built. It was launched in 1968 and was in production until the mid 1990s with nearly a thousand having been made.
The 4100W model had many different variations, As a Lifting crane ( capacity of 200 tons ). As a Tower crane ( 2 parts #22A tower & #23 Boom 123' - 183' and 110' - 170' Boom, Both parts more could be added ) . As a Ringer crane (HEAVY LIFTING). As a Dragline. As a Clamshell crane. In the 1970's if you were on a building construction site in the USA, Said tower crane. Everyone knew it was a 4100W, When its production run ended in the 1990's. Manitowoc acquired the Potain brand in 2001, They produce both top-slewing and self-erecting Tower cranes. Ending the need for lattice-boom crawler crane to be fitted for ( tower crane )
