What is this thing?
As you (maybe) know, if you travel 1 block in the Nether you've traveled 8 blocks in the Overworld, meaning that it's very useful to use the Nether for traveling long distances in the Overworld. With this Minecart Hub I've made I try to do this as simple and as fast as possible.

How does it work?
The main part of it is the hub itself. You select on the destination panel to which station you want to go, get in the Minecart on the right platform, hit the button above it and off you go. Nearly all stations have one or more Nether portals to the right destination in the Overworld, but there are also some stops in the Nether itself.

I've made it so that, if you travel from a station, you'll always return to the hub itself. This means you can travel from the stations to the hub at any time you want even if you didn't select it first.

The build
Since it's built in the Nether I wanted to use Nether blocks so I went with Nether brick and Quartz blocks. The railway tunnels and the stations are made pretty much entirely from these, the hub additionally has a floor partly made from black and purple wool to resemble the nether portal colors.

I built this in my survival world, so I collected everything myself. I took all the Nether brick from a Nether Fortress, and the Quartz from the wild. Most Quartz blocks are actually half slabs as you get 6 half slabs from 3 of the full block type, so I saved a ton by doing this.

Also since it's made in the Nether, I had to Ghast-proof everything so I also made a cobblestone shield around everything they can break.
