Here's a really cool challenge I was working on in 1.7 and just started working on again recently. It's not your average parkour challenge; it requires more all-around skill than your normal jump-from-here-to-here parkour, and some of the challenges aren't even parkour. I plan to have at least ten sub-challenges by the time it is finished. Here are the ones I have now:
Challenge 1: The Tricksy Wall
Push buttons on the wall to power pistons that push out blocks you can jump on. Better jump before they pull back in!
Challenge 2: The Tricksy Ledge (Planned to be removed)
Navigate past a one-block ledge with pistons that try to push you off.
Challenge 3: Wall Climb
Recieve 10 ender pearls and climb up a 100-block tall 3x3 chamber. It's not as simple as it sounds.
Challenge 4: Spiral (My personal favorite!)
Fall down the 100 blocks you gained in Wall Climb in huge tower and land in the water at the bottom. The catch: don't hit the ledges every ten blocks with only a small hole to let you through...
Challenge 5: Piston Road
Jump across a chasm on four blocks pushd pistons going in and out of a wall.
Challenge 6: Run for it (Lots of fun!)
Race down a 3x3 chamber, competing with redstone repeatersheaded to a command block that kills you. It's not a simple sprint! There are many obstacles in the way that you have to go around and jump over...
Challenge 7: Archery Master (Possible removal)
Recieve only three arrows and try to snipe a wooden button to get to the next level.
Challenge 8: Water Maze
Recive only a few seconds of water breathing and then dash through an underwater maze before your time runs out.
Please comment! I'd love to make improvements on this based on other people's ideas. I'm looking for ideas on Challenges 9 and 10 as well as tips on how to improve or revise the ones already there. I don't want to make this impossibly hard- I can do that. I want it to be possible to beat for all Minecrafters, but a true challenge for the pros as well. And don't forget to give it a diamond if you like it!
Note that I have actually beat all of the current challenges at least once, so know that everything is possible. But don't let that make you think they're easy either. They're not.
Decent computer recommended! I'm working on giving most of the challenges epic (and confusing!) rapidly flashing lights, but an old computer won't like having to load all the changes in light level. When I have the time and the flashing feature is finished, I'll add an option to stop it for people with slower computers.
This is not finished! It is a lot of fun to try to beat currently, but if you want to take the challenge to beat it, you had best wait for the final version. I'm looking for suggestions and constuctive critisism, so if you have any, please comment, but I don't recommend downloading to play just yet. Watch for the finished version!
