Alright, so you start a LAN world in a public place and load up your survival world to play with your friends. The next thing you know, some griefer logs on and blows all your hard work up.

Has this ever happened to you? The worst thing about it is that you have no defense. On LAN, there's no whitelist, ban or kick options. Fortunately, for you I've devised a simple but effective way of dealing with it.

I call it "The LAN Whitelist Box™". This box does essentially what the name says, it provides a whitelist for your defenseless LAN worlds!

So how does it work? After turning it on, it will constantly kill anyone who isn't authorized to be on your server. At anytime, you can remove people from the server too, just in case the TNT comes out (Use /scoreboard players set [your "friend's" name] Whitelisted 0).

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Insert schematic into world/load up pre-made world
  2. Enter world and start machine
  3. Add friends using /scoreboard players set [your friend's name] Whitelisted 1
  4. Open LAN
  5. Play LAN griefer-free

NOTE:
You will need to use /scoreboard players set @p Whitelisted 1 before turning the machine on if you download the world

i just recently had an issue with it on the 1.7 i did the scoreboard command, and it said Error. i ignored and turned on the Whitelister. and it kinda, yeah nothing more to say :P you get the hint. any troubleshooting ideas?

did you download the schematic? If you did, there's a bug where it kills you and doesn't let you use the command. Until I update this, the best solution would be to open chat while you're alive. The machine will still kill you, but the chat box stays open. You can then type the command to fix it.

i did, i typed in the /scoreboard players set [your friend's name] Whitelisted 1, without the brackets, if that makes any difference.
