This little device, once set, will tell you what phase the moon will be in when it rises. It should stay accurate indefinitely, as long as it is in a loaded chunk. Every morning, the day light detector will set it to the next evening's moon phase. This is useful in survival mode, you will always know when the full moon is coming!

Edit:
It turns out, for some reason, the moon SWITCHES at the half moon phase! Why would this be?? It makes no sense! Anyway, the display still does show the correct phase, (full, 3/4 1/2 1/4 etc...) Its just that the lights are switched to the other side for some of the phases. Reversing the direction of the hoppers will make it more "correct", with only the 3/4 phases being reversed. I put some pictures above to demonstrated the lights in all the phases.

In addition to the rating of the clear purpose criteria, I must add that it was not clear that it was what bulbs were not lit that indicates the phase, not what is lit. I almost gave 2 stars for proper functioning because I thought it was showing the phases in reverse of what the moon actually was but realized that the shape of the dark side matched the indicator. Therefore, I gave 4 stars for clear purpose. I would recommend to put signs that describe how to use it if it's not obvious; I would've given 5 stars if you clearly stated that you needed to look at the unlit part (putting it in the description of the submission on PMC is fine but I prefer putting it in the world if possible). But you did great otherwise! Very neat feature. :)

That's what i was going to judge by originally, that the display was reversed, but i noticed that the unlit bulbs matched the shape of the dark part of the moon so i judged it as fully working but not completely easily understood how to read it right. I hope i judged yours right. I don't ever want an unfair chance at winning DX
