Nether PMC Contest: Morgate
Time period: PY=Pre-Yumorian
Lore: Below The continent of Fourthwind lies a land of legend, myth and great evil. The Underworld or o The ultimate silenceo is a evil and putrid waste land of hell. Miles and miles of molten rock spread north to south, east to west. And on 1 large island is the city of Morgate. Morgate is known for the start of many disasters and wars in the The Lands of Imagination. It was the home of the o Enemyo in the Night wars and the evil that almost wiped out the dwarven empire. The city is written and mention in many stories and legends around the world. Legends of beasts and torture in children stories ended up being real at the beginning of the Dark Wars. The start of the Dark Wars is still a mystery. No one knows how the portal to Morgate was opened. Some say the dwarves ventured down into Mount Ash and opened and forbidden seal leading to the underworld. Some say witches gathered under the red moon and sacrificed themselves to let loose a ultimate evil, the o Enemyo . Luckily the Paladins of Lightholt suspended the evil in time and infiltrated the world of silence and eternal death. There stronghold is lost in the waste land and now cannot be reached by the people of Fourthwind. Now they must make a escape through Morgate itself to ignite their portal and travel back to their home. 500PY The city was infiltrated by Demons of the Abyss. The fiends and devils are locked in a eternal war called o The Blood Warso . The attack from the inside of the city and then it led straight to the Palace of Glasya. The city fended off the attack until Mount Baator erupted. The city was not harmed by the ash or lava but strengthen them by summoning lava golems. The lava golems are now common among the world and are a peaceful creatures unless disturbed. Morgate now stands as a beacon of death and a symbol of lawful evil.
Economy: Morgate is home to many evil creatures but is inhabited by Pigmen. A cross between zombie and pig. One of the most putrid creatures the world have ever seen. Disgusting but strong creatures. They are neutral in the wild but when provoked it will attack in groups and call others to aid it. They are also the slaves of the mine of Fyrith, where they work and collect coal, iron, gold and quartz, and drain the mountain dry until they move on to another. Its economy is based off of the selling of ghast tears and quartz and buying gold and iron. Morgate is the center of goods in the underworld. Supplying goods and supplies for every war. During wars they are one of the most powerful nations in the 3 realms. With a army vast enough to take down nations in a matter of weeks. The Lord Asmodeus, who rules The Ultimate Silence, is the center of power and controls and sees everything that goes on.
Asmodeus: Asmodeus is a devil. Devils are a strong, evil humanoid race. They are smart, strong in magic and tactics. Unlike other creatures they are light on their feet making it easy to walk on soul sand. He is the king of hell, Lord of the ninth, and the prince of Nessus. He rules the underworld with a golden fist as some might say. He oversees everything that goes on and is in a eternal war with the demons starting from the beginning of creation. Asmodeus was the heir to the throne to rule the lesser dukes of hell. He rules by a lawful evil code, unlike the Demons of the Abyss who go by a chaotic evil code. He was forbidden to ever come to the Lands of Imagination and if he does he will die. Till now he still seeks a way to escape his o imprisonmento of the waste land he rules. He was not aware of the Dark Wars until the Paladins of Lightholt were involved. Ancient text says when Lightholt was summoned into battle Asmodeus grew sick. He called in The Spark Hunters, his personal soldiers, to protect him at all times while the war was ongoing. Off course someone of great power should not have been scared. But he was. He knew what the paladins of Lightholt were capable off and the great feats they have done. After the Dark wars he was drained of power and grew weak and old. Trying to absorb power from Mount Baator, the only volcano located in Morgate. Till this day he still recharges and is vulnerable to being overthrown. For many years he has seeked to overthrow the other rules of hell. Especially Levistus, the ruler of the fifth layer of hell but now he fears that he will overthrow him.
History: Morgate was built around 24PY to strengthen the other layers of hell. It was to supply goods and treasure throughout the nine. But when Asmodeus took the throne of the nine layer of hell he shaped it into a city for the pity. The city revolved around mining and work. They would mine from mountain to mountain draining all ore veins dry. Until they stumbled across the mine of Fyrith. Where they work all day, and all night. Lost souls and enemies of war would mine until death. And even in death they would be tortured by sound and heat of the mine that will haunt them for eternity. The mine of Fyrith is a never ending mine that has been mined for hundreds of years. 143PY Asmodeus summoned a dragon to protect the city. But when the dragon was summoned, it died instantly letting out a blood curdling cry of death. The bones vaporised into the atmosphere and then struck down with brute force creating Metruli, the undead dragon. The dragon was kept in the dungeon in eternal slumber not ever to be awoken unless Asmodeus does. The dragon is only to be awoken in times of great threat.
The Build: The build was started a little late. At least 3 days after the contest was started, but we were able to finish it. It consists of a over world stronghold, mine, city, palace/castle, low lands and some easter eggs for you to discover. It was my idea to make a nether city and I came up with the design. Me and a couple of other people from iltkamilo s server built it under his and my instruction. The build was inspired by Lord of the Rings and Dungeons and Dragons 1-4th generation. We tried to make it look as dark as possible but that was not an option since everything had the same texture. So we decided to use stone type blocks.
