I like to build from time-to-time and this time i'm posting an island I've built on a Skyblock server. Of course I had the great privilege of building with /fly, so I was able to finish this island in 2-3 weeks. It is an island mainly for "show" to dazzle the visitors it may receive as well as satisfy the island inhabitants. (Myself and a few of my friends.)
I took the pictures while using shaders so i'm sure it won't look as great to you if you see it in person, haha. (Apologies for image quality)
On skyblock I prefer to build my island in levels.
The first level being a pleasing-to-the-eye styled level where island members live and visitors have public access to things like enchanting, anvils and whatnot. I often build the large buildings and trees here.
The second level is also a public-access level that may or may not have small mob grinders for the public. In this case it is a medieval village filled with villagers that players can access for item trades.
The third level is the industrial level and holds farms, bigger grinders and money-making machines/grinders. It's rather ugly so I prefer to keep these things at the very bottom of the island in which you can't see. You can, however visit this level if you'd like, but everything built on it is not public accessible. There are often warps to shops inside these huge grinders, though. Profit shops, for example.
I did add the house from the movie "UP" and do not take credit for it's design. I did however, design everything else myself.
You can see this island in person on a server called CascadeMC. The warp on the Skyblock server is currently: /is warp lak
