Nepte
The tiny water surrounded city of Nepte began as a home of refugees from a dozen Tigurum fishing communities lining the Celsa river system. The city began as several anchored boats connected to one another but eventually grew from salvaging the ocean and trading with desperate merchant ships. They have even divised a method of diluting freshwater from salt, though newcomers find it nearly unbearable, and consider themselves fully self sufficient.
Nepte is named in honor of the city's goddess, Neptan an altered version of the old god Nephtem. It is believed that through her grace the community has flourished. Popularity of the goddess has spread from the community to the mainland in the last century, spurred by stories spread by sailors of the people's luck. She is generally the prayed to by the downtrodden and mothers who have lost their children to sea.
The city is built with both resources and climate taken into consideration. The ocean surrounding Nepte is warm, and hosts a variety of sea life, making for lighter homes that allow a breeze to cut through them and low storage homes. The houses are mostly drift wood pieced together, and handed down through family groups to through the eldest daughter, because sons are too often lost at sea. All homes have ladder access to small dock for their small boats.
About the Build:
Nepte was built by TickTockRabbit for an MEC side project, but was never used. The entire city was built with available resources of the people it was meant to house in mind, as well is the setting.
Nothing spectacular, but maybe a little different. :3
