This monumental former government building was built between 1897 to 1902 and designed by John and Arthur Scott. Located at 600 Randolph Street Detroit, Michigan, once completed was regarded as the most splendid building in Michigan. The building stand 5 floors tall and peaked originally at 227 feet however the dome was redone in the 1960's to bring its height to 247 feet. The cost of upkeep was becoming to high for the county government to rationalize its continued use and they have since moved into a more modern building.
