One World Trade Center 1:1 Scale
One World Trade Center (or "Freedom Tower") is the tallest building in the United States. It is 541 meters high.
I decided to build it in Minecraft, using data packs that would increase the height. This replica is a bit shorter than the original one - 510 blocks, to not exceed the height limit of 512, as making the height limit 1024 would vastly decrease the performance, and map would be accessible only on high-end computers, which I did not want. Building is so huge, that if you set your rendering distance to maximum, you won't be able to see grass down from top floors.
Statistics:
- 510 blocks high
- 106 floors
- 62 x 62 blocks
- 33 elevators
- 2 staircases
Features:
- Built using real floor plans (where I could)
- Concrete core with all elevators and staircases
- Over 100 blocks tall spire
- Fully finished lobby and Observation Deck
Floors are not yet furnished. It will come in the next update. Map was built using WorldEdit, and took quite a long time to make (each floor is pretty much different, so I couldn't just copy and paste the most times).
Version: 1.17.1
As the height limit is 512, Minecraft has to load twice as many chunks, you may encounter huge FPS drops. We recommend having a stronger computer for this map.
IMPORTANT
To get a great view of the building you need to change one setting. Go to your Minecraft folder, find a file options.txt, open it, and find the line "gamma:0.0". You need to change that to "gamma:500.0". It will increase brightness, you will be able to see the caves totally bright without torches and you will see through water and in the night. The building does not yet feature a good lightning system, so you need to change that setting so that the building won't be completely dark inside. It should also come in handy when you're playing normal survival mode or on servers.
