The Sukhoi Su-37 (Russian: Сухой Су-37; NATO reporting name: Flanker-F; popularly nicknamed "Terminator"^[2]) was a single-seat twin-engine aircraft designed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau that served as a technology demonstrator. It allowed for the need to enhance pilot control of the Su-27M (later renamed Su-35), which was a further development of the Su-27. The sole aircraft had originally been built as the eleventh Su-27M (T10M-11) by the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Production Association before having its thrust-vectoring nozzles installed. In addition, it was modified with updated flight- and weapons-control systems. The aircraft made its maiden flight in April 1996. Throughout the flight-test program, the Su-37 demonstrated its supermaneuverability at air shows, performing manoeuvres such as a 360-degree somersault. The aircraft crashed in December 2002 due to structural failure. The Su-37 did not enter production; despite a report in 1998 which claimed that Sukhoi had built a second Su-37 using the twelfth Su-27M airframe,^[3] T10M-11 remained the sole prototype. Sukhoi had instead applied the aircraft's systems to the design bureau's other fighter designs.



Су-37 (по кодификации НАТО: Flanker-F — «Фланкер-Ф») — экспериментальный сверхманевренный истребитель четвёртого поколения с передним горизонтальным оперением (ПГО) и двигателями с УВТ. Создан на базе истребителя Су-27М.

Первый полёт Су-37 с двигателями УВТ состоялся 2 апреля 1996 года, его выполнил лётчик-испытатель Евгений Фролов^[1]. Единственный лётный экземпляр (заводской шифр самолёта Т10М-11, б/н 711), построенный ещё в конце 1993 года, разбился в одном из испытательных полётов 19 декабря 2002 года, когда на нём стояли обычные двигатели без УВТ, для отработки других систем. Программа прекращена.

Параллельно, с учётом наработанного, реализовывалась программа по созданию самолёта Су-35 с двигателями АЛ-41Ф1С с УВТ (первый полёт 19 февраля 2008 года, поставка первых 12 самолётов 12 февраля 2014 года).





During the Continental War, Terminators were famously flown by the Yellow Squadron, who used their skill in conjunction with its advanced technologies to achieve deadly results through the course of the war^[3] until their destruction in the siege of Farbanti.^[4] A batch of unused Terminators were obtained by the Megalith defense squadron in order to defend Megalith from the Independent State Allied Forces; the members of the squadron paid homage to Yellow Squadron by painting their Terminators in Yellow colors.^[5]
