Pikachu is a basic Pokémon of the first generation of the Electro type. Its Pokédex identification number is 25. In the context of the franchise created by Satoshi Tajiri, Pikachu evolves from Pichu to achieving a specific level of happiness and evolves in Raichu in turn through the use of the Pietratuno tool.

Conceived by the Game Freak's design team, Pikachu made his first appearance in 1996 in the Pokémon Red and Blue video games and is featured in most of the video games in the series. After being cast as the main character of the Pokémon animated series alongside Ash Ketchum, he became the franchise's official mascot. It also appears in all Pokémon movies, in the Pokémon Trading Card Game, where it is the most represented Pokémon ever, and in numerous manga derived from the series, as well as being the protagonist of the Pokémon Yellow, Pokémon Dash, Hey You, Pikachu!, PokéPark Wii: The Great Adventure of Pikachu and Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu!

Considered one of the most famous and well-known characters in the franchise, Pikachu has risen to an icon of Japanese culture and kawaii. For its popularity it has been compared to the Japanese equivalent of Mickey Mouse and has been the subject of numerous commercial campaigns, homages and parodies.

Nel contesto del franchise creato da Satoshi Tajiri, Pikachu evolve da Pichu al raggiungimento di uno specifico livello di felicità e si evolve a sua volta in Raichu tramite l'utilizzo dello strumento Pietratuono.


Ideato dal team di designer della Game Freak, Pikachu fa la sua prima apparizione nel 1996 nei videogiochi Pokémon Rosso e Blu
ed è presente nella maggior parte dei videogiochi della serie. Dopo
essere stato scelto come personaggio principale della serie animata Pokémon a fianco di Ash Ketchum, è diventato la mascotte ufficiale del franchise^[​5]. Appare inoltre in tutti i film di Pokémon, nel Pokémon Trading Card Game,
