Concept Explanation: The scene takes place in a context of political & economic tensions in the ancient middle east. The main inspiration for this fictive world comes from the “Orientalism” art current. It witnessed the fascination in the Occidental world for the Arabic countries’ culture through paintings and novels during the XIXth Century. Today I salute the masters of the Orientalism and present a more fantasy twisted interpretation of the theme.

Technical Aspect
Challenging Minecraft builds in another XXL build was something I always wanted to do again. The theme is much more grounded/realistic than my previous science fiction or fantasy projects.
The Sketchfab contest was a good occasion to explore crime/mystery themes throughout different types of arts.
Most of the studies went into the patterns used in Middle-East. I consider design research as one of the essential steps in the making process. Finding inspiration from various sources and interpreting, modifying them was a very inspirational thing to do.
Tools used: World Edit, Voxel Sniper.
