This is the city I started making. It started largely as an experiment to see what I could do with Single Player Commands. The map is the new 1.1 Superflat option for generating a new map. I also wanted to try building with some materials I've never really used: obsidian & bedrock.
I'm pretty pragmatic about names, so the city simply became known as Quadrant. It looks best at nighttime because most of the lighting in the houses shines up through the stair blocks giving everything a soft glow.
The city is divided into four quadrants:
I haven't decided what to fill the four towers with yet. I was considering elemental crystals. Hardly original, but I have some good ideas about how to do it in my head. Anyone want to make a suggestion?

- The rich district.
- The poor district.
- The Castle
- The Marketplace. (not yet built.

Quadrant is now finished. The market is nothing terribly original. But I love the circle and the 'strewn about' good in the market.
