John traveled through different scenarios in the dream world to open the portal back into reality.

When John escaped, he smashed his own TV so that he can end the nightmare. Unfortunately, breaking his own TV
doesn't stop Raging-X from recapturing him and bringing him into an unfamiliar scenario.
