Hello, for over a year and a half I have been creating a map of the Suwałki Railway Station. At the moment it is still under construction. The park at the railway station was created, as well as the entire station. The road will lead to the corner of Kolejowa and Północna Streets. The platforms are fully made and designed, signs at the station, road signs, so that it looks like a 1:1 version.

History of the Suwałki railway station

The Suwałki Railway Station was built in the 20th century. The facades are faced with red brick, just like barracks or factories of the time, decorated with intricate brick details: pilasters, cube cornices, arcaded friezes. Avant-corps accented with massive finials made of overlapping layers of bricks, segmental brick arches above the windows, protruding beyond the face of the wall and fastened with keystones. Such stations have been preserved, among others, in Augustów or Kamienna Nowa.

In the years 1896-1897 the Olita-Suwałki-Augustów-Grodno railway line was built and the station in Suwałki was located in the north-east of part of the city. The ceremonial opening of the line took place on May 13, 1899. The railway station was probably built at that time. Bombed in September 1939. Until the 1990s, it housed: the Passenger Transport Department, the Freight Transport Department, the Rolling Stock Department and the Railway Teleinformatics Department. It is currently unused.

The station was opened in 1896, mainly for the needs of the Russian army. Thanks to the opening of the station, the city developed rapidly.
