Unfortunately, I will not be continuing this project, at least not in this project or build. It has simply been too long, and when I want to return to the project I will likely end up simply rebuilding the entire thing, but hopefully a bit better this time.
This project has been in the making for over 2 years. It has been restarted 3 times, and I've had to take many breaks from working on it in order to preserve my sanity. But it looks like I finally have a setup that I can finish, so I'm going to upload what I have and see what comes of it.
For updates on this please subscribe to me on PMC, as I plan on updating this project as I build it. If you like what you see, feel free to check out my youtube channel for other redstone builds, most of what I upload doesn't get posted here!
Planned features:
To Do: (Crossed out items are done, bold items are currently being worked on, normal items are yet to be done)
It's been a while, but I think I'm finally coming within reach of completing such an ambitious project. I plan on updating this page as I complete the project, and posting a download when I finish the whole thing. Hopefully you can stay around until I'm done :)

Planned features:
- 2 players games
- Completely cheat proof, including turns and piece logic
- Easy to read display, with redstone lamps used for pieces
- Tripwire grid control
- Easy piece movement and selection
- Move counter
- Check and win detection
- Automatic reset and start
- Command blocks only used in control panels so there are no ugly wires going between the board and the player. Everything else is hardwired.
To Do: (Crossed out items are done, bold items are currently being worked on, normal items are yet to be done)
- Create control panels for players
- Add block swappers for redstone lamp screen
- Wire memory arrays to board
- Create movement logic for individual pieces: White Pawns, Black Pawns, Rooks, Knights, Bishops, Queens, King
- Copy existing piece logic onto black side of board
- Connect color memories to piece logic
- Connect control panels to memory arrays and piece logic
- Add ability to move and remove pieces based on piece logic
- Add turn counter, to keep track of turns and count the number of moves

Update #2 : by Jmal116 11/28/2013 9:33:35 amNov 28th, 2013
It may not seem like much, but this one part took at least 35 hours of work to fit everything in!
Now that I know how everything is going to fit together, I'm going to rebuild it, but better. The problem I have with the current build is that it is completely incompatible with my other circuits, and I would have to redesign a lot of the board to make it work. So I'm going to try rebuilding it, and see where I can go from there.
