What it does?
You put a redstone torch on the Gold Block (gold is just an example so you know where you would put it) and then the piston will retract making the torch fall off this also gives off a pulse.

Uses -
1. Hidden Switches.
2. Fancy Doors/Contraptions like Codecrafted's Hidden Furnace Staircase.
3. Your imagination is the limit !

i actually don't think its exactly a "bud" and anyway i did call it a redstone torch detector and it does do exactly what i called it does it not ?

The way that you built this one isn't a BUD switch but the most common way of building it is by using a BUD switch. Cool idea but one question: do you need both pistons on either side or do you just need one?

you can go with just one side if you wish. it also works with all sides.
