ABOUT THE BUILD:
If you want to see the build process, I've made a few videos of the progress on my youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7OQWid5eXPh3Go-O85Dbyw
The build is split into 4 segments: the docks, living/factory area, the mine, and the landing strip. All of these are connected to each other and a central station structure by a 5 rail monorail network. The build is for the most part complete although it was difficult to complete everything since it was a one person project; therefor the interiors are unfortunately not done. Sad but true, I hope you can enjoy the build as is, because I did put an enormous amount of effort into it.
Oh, and the runway has working lights :P Just drop down through the trapdoor, hit the lever so that the pistons are extended, and then hit the button ;)
LORE:
Spoiler - click to reveal
Upon discovering the expansive barren wastelands which were to be the foundations of his new industrial empire, Steve immediately proceeded to create a sprawling town from such materials as he could find. Of iron, stone, clay and coal there was plenty, but there was no great supply of wood or the elegant materials such as quartz and diamond which he had seen in the sky cities, and thus his new settlement was filled with the dull greys and blacks which suited it’s surroundings.
As the great builder he was, Steve created a true powerhouse of refinery and manufacture which still displayed his artistic talent and finesse. He payed attention to each detail, from the pillars of his central station to the mechanics of his cranes and the chimneys of his factories; every block was placed with his vast plans in mind.
The location was perfect: access to the sea for trade and access to the mountains for mining opportunities. And Steve new that with all its mineral abundance, the town would come to be a solid center of iron ore export, and therefor he chose for it the name Reurok Ironworks, Reurok mainly because he thought it sounded cool.
