The Brothers of the Riders are a group of individuals that are similar to, putting it plainly, Robin Hood. They help travelers stay safe and protected along of their journeys within the Rider's territory as well as offering a safe place to stay the night should the traveler wish it. The Lord Commandant of the Brothers of the Riders can be seem almost constantly surveying from his balcony, eyes that are said to faintly glow in the dark like green embers and occasionally shimmer when speaking with someone. Although the Lord Commandant rarely speaks he does leave an impression of power and authority. Some people who have stayed at the outpost have spoken occasionally of the strange sounds and rumblings within the building. Some have described it as a shuffling movement behind the walls or even the sound of entire walls themselves moving and opening.
There is, however, a very small group of people who believe and speak of, in hushed tones, these Riders as having much darker motives and and activities than what most travelers believe. Every now and then, a traveler or lodger mysteriously disappears without a trace, never to be found again. Much of the time the Riders simply state the person was never there.
A wise person would leave it at that and attempt to live life without their missing loved on. However, there are a foolish few who do probe deeper into the mystery of how these people disappeared; the lucky ones are found dead in the woods, seemingly torn to shreds by some beast unseen and unknown by mankind. Almost nothing is known about what happens to the inquisitive people who disappear and are not found, however their fate is surely much worse than anything man can imagine.
Much of the information about the Riders can be traced back, just barely, to a hermit who barely speaks. Nobody can remember seeing this hermit when they encounter him to describe what he or she looks like. However, the words the hermit speaks are burned into the minds of the person by, as it seems to them, some unknown disembodied voice. It is said that the hermit and the Riders abhor each other, each seemingly both in a stalemate and full fledged war with each other at various times. The knowing few speak of the immense power this single hermit must have in order to maintain the secret war with the numerous Riders while not defeating them nor losing to them.
This is my first truly finished build as each of the rooms are furnished and completed. This complex has everything you would need in a home; a blacksmith area, dining area, living room, multiple bedrooms, work areas, storage areas, and a prisoner cell. There is no maximum level enchantment table simply because I hate how the bookcases can only have a 1 block space from the table for it to work. See if you can find out how to open the secret passageway to the prisoner cell and root cellar.
I originally made this as part of my trial build on the Forgotten Realms server and I just loved the way it looked and flowed. So I opened up MetolBeast's great Isles of Quiescence map and got to work making it fit in completely. I also added a couple of other things that I didn't really plan on adding when I started but I got inspired. As I made this on the Forgotten Realms server I had used their texture pack however they base their texture pack on DokuCraft so I included both versions in the download; one using the Forgotten Realms texture and another using the DokuCraft texture. You'd probably have to adjust the wool colors depending on what type of DokuCraft is your preference; High, Dark, Light.
If you guys would like I can upload a schematic of just the house so you can go ahead and place that in your own single player world. Just let me know if that is something you'd like.
