Introducing RMS Queen Elizabeth in Minecraft!
This is a 1:1 build of the Cunard liner RMS Queen Elizabeth! This build features her First, Cabin, and Tourist Class interiors. This build is in her 1960s Cruise Refit form.

Disclaimer
: Due to the age of this build and how I used to build, there may be some inaccuracies in the deck layouts and sizing of certain aspects.

A few things to know about this build:
1) I recommend you use the Natural Texture Pack for full immersion.

2) I build in 1:1 scale, but building in this scale comes with limitations. Some areas may be distorted or compromised due to scale and sizing when building in 1:1. Compromises have to be made in order to complete the build. Some areas may not resemble the actual ship and in those circumstances, I have to fictionalize some aspects about the build to "balance out" the build or to allow player interaction. I fully recognize 1:1 is not a perfect scale to build in but I personally find 1:1 to be the sweet spot for me.

3) I don't build cabins, engine rooms, or crew spaces. The reason is there is little to no information on what some of these spaces actually looked like, so I'd rather not spend the time to build something that I don't have information on. There is dead space on my builds because I primarily focus on class accommodations (Lounges, Dining Rooms, etc) and tend to focus less on passenger corridors, cabins, crew spaces, etc. I apologize in advance if you expect a full build with no dead space.

Short history of RMS Queen Elizabeth
RMS Queen Elizabeth was an ocean liner operated by the Cunard Line. Launched on 27 September 1938, it was named in honor of Queen Elizabeth, the wife of King George VI. The ship was constructed in the mid-1930s by John Brown and Company at Clydebank, Scotland1. With a design that improved upon that of Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth was slightly larger, being 12 feet longer than her sister ship1. She was the largest passenger liner ever built at that time and for 56 years thereafter. She entered service in March 1940 as a troopship during the Second World War. It was not until October 1946 that she made her first commercial voyage in her intended role as an ocean liner. In tandem with Queen Mary, both ships provided a weekly luxury liner service between Southampton in the United Kingdom and New York City in the United States, via Cherbourg in France. With the decline in popularity of the transatlantic route, both ships were replaced by the smaller, more economical Queen Elizabeth 2, which made her maiden voyage in 1969. Queen Elizabeth was retired after her final crossing to New York, on 8 December 1968. She was moved to Port Everglades, Florida, and converted to a tourist attraction, which opened in February 1969. The business was unsuccessful, and closed in August 1970. Finally, Queen Elizabeth was sold to Hong Kong businessman Tung Chao Yung, who intended to convert her into a floating university cruise ship called Seawise University. In 1972, whilst she was undergoing refurbishment in Hong Kong harbor, a fire broke out aboard under unexplained circumstances, and the ship was capsized by the water used to fight the fire. Marking the end of this famous and beloved liner.
