Quick bit of background first, I am new to minecraft, modding and coding...so this project will be monumental for me! My son plays and I tried a game with him the other day, I wanted to build a building with cobblestone and red brick in survival mode, to which he pulled a face and called me awkward as we would need an abundance of clay which is found near or under water and the time taken to mine it would be increased due to breathing limitations. So I had an idea, what if I could make a scuba gear mod, enabling longer underwater exploration? I have a small plan, just need to implement it. I need to create 2 new materials, rubber and plastic. One can be derived from tree sap, so will need a tool capable of extracting it, then decide how to process it, the other derived from coal, again need to decide on the process for creating it. Then I need to make items for helmet (snorkel), chest and legs (wetsuit and scuba tank), feet (flippers), create a skin for the items and then work out how to change the effect they have on the breath meter. Any hints on where to start tackling this would be gratefully received, lol!!
