Seismic Vibrator

Hello,

this is a machine used in seismic data aquisition. The shaker in the middle of the vehicle injects low-frequency vibrations into the ground which get reflected by the various subsurface layers of the earth. A wide-spread field of sensors detect the reflected seismic waves on the surface. With the received data an image of what the underground should look like can be generated.
This method often is used to find oil, gas, water or other minerals such as salt underground.
