This is the result of me messing around with pistons in minecraft for a few days. To activate the self-repairing part of the fort you have to go to the inner part of the castle and make your way down. In one of the corners is a way into the basement where some of the redstone wiring is visible. In the center of the basement is a switch to activate it.

Over all a very good idea, but what happens if you cant get downstairs in time? If it fixes it self doess it then trap the mobs in there?

On the off chance that a creeper blows up the side or a stack of tnt happens to create a gap and the switch hasn't been activated yet it would be possible for one or two mobs to make their way inside. Also, the lighting inside isn't perfect and mobs could spawn in there if some torches aren't laid down.

Can the tourchs be knocked off when the walls fix themself?????

If the block the torch is attached to is not destroyed then the torch will stay. The pretty paintings however, will probably fall off if any of the blocks it is attached to move.

and how exactly does it self repair as in which part of the fort? and how much will it repar?

All the vertical walls the fort is made of will repair. The fort can repair these sections infinitely thanks to the cobblestone generators in the basement of the fort.
