The Shadow Dragon, known as Nyxthar, was once a majestic creature of the skies, a dragon of shimmering obsidian scales that glinted in the sun like polished gemstones. However, its fate was forever changed when it crossed into the Shadow Realm—a dark, mystical plane that corrupts all who enter. Cursed by the ancient beings of that forgotten world, Nyxthar's once-proud wings were torn asunder, replaced with ethereal wisps of darkness. Its once radiant eyes now burn with an ominous violet glow, and its scales, instead of reflecting light, now absorb it, creating a void wherever it passes.

Nyxthar was transformed into a creature that lives between worlds, slipping between the material plane and the Shadow Realm at will. It lurks in the twilight, an embodiment of fear, stalking the forgotten corners of the earth, where the light seldom reaches. Legends say that whenever Nyxthar flies, it brings with it an eclipse, plunging the land into an unnatural darkness. With each shadow it touches, the dragon drains life and vitality, growing stronger while leaving behind only withered landscapes and twisted forms of what once thrived there.

Though twisted by the curse, the Shadow Dragon is not purely evil. There are tales of those who have sought Nyxthar out, hoping to harness its power or undo the curse that binds it to the darkness. The few who have survived these encounters speak of a beast wracked with sorrow, driven by an unrelenting hunger for freedom from its torment. Yet, none have been able to free it from the shadow’s grip, and so Nyxthar remains, a dragon of twilight—both feared and pitied by those who remember the once-beautiful creature lost to darkness.
