what is the approximate range this fires on a flat surface? ive been experimenting with cannons of my own and i just want a point of comparison.

depends on how the cannon is made and the timing of the bomb that fires amd the size of the block it lands on...half and full blocks change the distance and angle..if ud like ill make one using the flat lands map using the slowest possible timing...

Yep it did and it matches about mine in range. a rather unusual spot for the tnt being shot though. My timing method is 8 repeaters. the first 7 at full delay and the last usually at the 2nd fastest changing if i need to blow a hole in the middle of a wall or something (Precise detonation). Keep your eyes out because ill post my versions in a few minutes.
