Hello and welcome back! It has been a little over SEVEN years since my first attempts to make a custom map. In that time, I have learned so so so much. More than I could write even, PMC would think they were being DDOSed when I tried to post it all, assuming there is no character limit. So I felt, given it was my first project, I needed to revisit it and give it a fresh coat of paint. And by that I mean remake it from scratch because dear god, it was unsalvageable.

Sky Islands 3
Sky Islands 3 is a giant map composed of floating 'biome islands'. Think of it as the logical extreme of Skyblock taken in the opposite direction as most go. Your still contending with limited resources, but not nearly as badly, however your biggest threat is the sky itself. Being a 1.14 map, Phantoms are going to be a true terror, especially with the large distances between Islands. I've done my best to make it a fair challenge. Everything you need to beat the game is obtainable, including some extras like large veins of redstone etc. Each island has a unique Ore theme- all Islands have normal ore generation, but certain islands will have clumps of a single ore dotting it's underside. As an example, one biome might have large clusters of redstone exposed on its bottom. The challenge then is: If you want that juicy exposed ore, your going to have to scaffold for it. Risk vs reward.

Beyond this basic setup, the Islands are also littered with structures to make exploration just as rewarding as in Vanilla. You can find and beat all three bosses in this map- the Elder Guardian, the Wither, and the Ender Dragon. In fact, the Wither ties into the Hardcore Challenges List.

Hardcore Challenges List:
This is a list of optional extra challenges to complete, similar to Skyblock but vastly different in practice because of the map's design.
* Create a level 30 Enchanting Table
* Place a banner on every major island
* Build an Iron Golem
* Resurrect the Broken King
(^ Summon the Wither Boss by finding the Scattered Skulls)
* Clear the Ocean Monument
* Clear the Woodland Mansion
*Clear the Pyramid
* Find the Farlander's Altar
* Beat the Ender Dragon without visiting the Nether
(^ Blazes spawn in the heart of the largest volcano)

Custom Crafting:
Because the nature of this map, some items are basically unobtainable. because of this, there is a Datapack pre-added that lets you craft a few items. because they are added via Datapack, they should show up in the Crafting Guide.

* 4 ice = 1 packed ice
* 4 packed ice = 1 blue ice
* 3 quartz, 1 prismarine, 1 diamond = trident
* 4 dark oak planks, 1 bow, 2 iron ingots, 2 string = crossbow
