Soleil Royal 1693 was built to replace the previous Soleil Royal that had burnt by the British in 1692 at the Battle of La Hougue.
She put to sea in 1693 and was involved in the battle of Lagos in 1693 where she was the flagship of Tourville, the battle was a resounding success after capturing a large portion of the english and dutch merchant ships and two dutch ships of the line which put up a valiant fight, tourville took about 30 million livres in ships and their stores, the rest of the ships escaped.

Soleil Royal then took part in the Battle of Malaga in 1704. the battle was inconclusive after a long slugfest of gun fire both sides fought until each ship had about ten rounds per gun left and both sides disengaged due to lack of ammunition, the french sailed back to Toulon and did not take part in another action for the rest of the war.

From 1704 on she sat in port, and in 1707 the British attacked toulon most of the french ships were scuttled to avoid capture and gunfire this included Soleil Royal and she was sunk by her owners. She was raised later that year and their were plans to refit her but these plans didn't come to fruition.

Due to extensive rot she was condemned and taken to pieces at Toulon in 1713 the same place she was built.
