Splash (Roblox Rivals)

I have never been a Roblox fan myself, though I recall seeing hundreds of ads for it plastered across free Flash-game websites that I used to enjoy; Minecraft was always my preferred blocky-type game. In my eyes, there was something cheap and tacky about Roblox that had little to do with the price-tag. Nevertheless, when I saw this map on Roblox RIVALS, I was pleased by the simplicity and colorful design, and I knew I had to recreate it in Minecraft.

Splash is set on a complex inflatable bouncy castle structure in the water. The map is symmetric and has many sightlines so one should proceed with caution. In the middle of the castle structure is a functional trampoline that you can bounce on to gain complete vantage over the entire map. Jumping on the trampoline also makes you quite difficult to hit. Just be careful where you land!

Despite not being a huge fan of Roblox, I have a lot of respect for the well-intentioned creators in that community, and certainly for the creator(s) of Splash, without whom, this Minecraft project would not have come to be. To all the players: Thank you for supporting the artists and developers who work tirelessly to create virtual experiences. Personally, It’s a pleasant feeling seeing people enjoy my creations, even though I have never seen a cent from this hobby (except that $25 Apple gift card, thanks MontanaMob; I did not forget). If you have never given content creation a try, I sincerely request you do. It is always more fulfilling to share your talents than to just take and consume, and that applies in every field!

You can play the map for yourself on the GunColony server; I built it there. Splash is playable in Elimination and Arms Race modes.
