SS Baltimore 1935

Step aboard the SS Baltimore as she appeared in the beginning of her 1935 Season!

Despite the success of the Boston and Baltimore in the 1920s, the Great Depression kept the ships from being profitable. It was decided from late 1934 to early 1935 the SS Baltimore would receive updates to match the new "SS Buffalo" (forthcoming) in both style and passenger amenities. This kept the two sisters fairly distinct from one another. The Boston reserved for the older style traveler, and the Baltimore for the younger adventurous type. Sadly, this difference made the Boston feel rather stale and outdated along with the Philadelphia (ex Europa). Boston would never receive the same updates as she would be laid up in late 1936 and sold for scrapping in 1937. The Baltimore would remain in service until World War Two and would be laid up from 1948-1950 in the Chesapeake Bay when she would be scrapped. Bringing an end to the American four stackers.

Changes include:
- First Class renamed Cabin Class, Second Class renamed Tourist Class
- New B Deck cabins with ensuite bathroom.
- Club Baltimore "Night Club" replacing the restaurant on B Deck.
- Redecorated B and C Deck cabins for modernization in Pinks, Blues, and Greens.
- Bar installed in Tourist Class Smoke Room
- Third Class modernized with new flooring, updated lounge, smoke room, and cinema.
