Presenting the S.S. Canberra of the P&O Line! Launched on March 16, 1960, she was the largest liner for service other than North Atlantic. Soon after on June 2,1961 she started her seagoing career from Southampton for a around the world voyage. From 1962-63 she did occasional voyages from New York. In 1973 she was set in New York for 17 cruises; unsuccessful and was transferred to P&O Limited and began cruise service. From February to September of 1973 she was temporarily laid up in North Carolina. Soon after she was assigned cruise only from Southampton. In 1982 she entered war service as a troopship for the Falklands war, and was soon decommissioned and was treated a war hero upon her arrival to Sydney Harbor. After the war she resumed cruise service and her career ended in 1997 and was scrapped soon after. Her particulars were 818ft long, 102ft tall, and 32ft wide. Now the S.S. Canberra has been added to the Pan-American Fleet
