The Reichspostdampfer S.S. Königsberg started service at 1895 and was the first ship of the new "Preußen" -Class liners of the Atlas Line. She was the fastest passenger ship in the world at her time and won the Blue Riband for the fastest transatlantic crossing in 1896. She hold it until the S.S. Kaiser Wilhelm der Große took it later on.

She was the first three funnel steamer of the KDG and the Atlas Line and also a post steamer of the German Imperial Reich.
She was the first ship of three new types of transatlantic liners. Her sisters were the S.S. Potsdam and S.S. Danzig. All three were namend about the most important cities of the german Prussia country.

I am personaly very proud about this ship, because I love the shapes and how it comes along.
I tried to hold it in the style of german steam liners at the 1890ties and took a few inspirations from the "S.S. Kaiser Wilhelm der Große". For myself, I really enjoy the ship design of the german liners at this periode of time.
