The Lycaon was originally built Vickers-Armstrong of London in 1954. She was bought by the China Mutual Steam Navigation Co.Ltd. Her maximum speed was 16 knots. She was 148.5x19.2x10.8 meters. She was renamed Glaucus, then United Vanguard. She sank in 1979 when her engine cooling pipe burst and flooded the engine room. She was abandoned for several days and stayed afloat, but then finally succumbed to the flooding and slipped beneath the waves. She was a beautiful vessel. Elipsis Lines has recreated her, so she may live on. Enjoy!
