Structural Glazing - Schwimmdach by methy_

This is a Modern Concrete & Glass Home which features 3 wings linked through the middle
2 living wings & a garage area.
This is a large home with two levels in part, this is currently my main home base on the Orcon NZ server

A simple colour palette once again with stonebricks full height glazing and black detailing around the windows
the interiors are generally all white inside with grey carpets for contrast.

The special feature of this home is the floor to ceiling windows at each end of the wings that also wrap around the ceiling line to the other side, the roof effectively 'floats' on this glass, hence (structural glazing)
this term is a bit of a joke in the architectural industry, as there is no such thing as structural glazing.

The interiors have very high ceilings a are lit with a centre ceiling lighting strip

There is a large stairwell where the stairs float off the wall and dog-leg up to the floor above.
The top floor is not quite finished (as it is a Survival server house in progress) but not far off it.

I came up with the unique design after some experimentation, and it has grown into a much bigger home than i was anticipating.

However the appearance is very striking with very clean simple lines.
