2 Update Logs
Version 1.1 : by Pmk 07/24/2021 5:00:02 pmJul 24th, 2021
Changelog:
- Dramatically improved the underwater terrain, also adding sea plants and making the map borders less rough
- Changed the map biomes, changing the color of the sea and of most pools' water
- Added a world border
- Changed few details in the map, like improving the restaurant's bathroom and adding quite a few new 1.17 plants
- Added a music player to the beach bar
- Restored a feature from older Minecraft versions
- Added book with links to this page and the Overview Trailer
- Fixed a typo and a bug
- Improved two easter eggs and added a new one
Being a very old map, the island was one of the first map I painted in WorldPainter, which means I wasn't very happy with how it looked, 7 years after its initial conception. I thought it would have taken a lot of time to fix that, but it was actually pretty easy! So, the main change of v1.1 is the new underwater terrain, but I was able to add few more things.
In particular, I'm very happy I was able to restore a quirk the map had in the initial stages: in old version of Minecraft, you could use setblock to create thin water "blocks" (when blocks had metadata instead of tags), while in current versions they disappear. For some weird reasons, if you did that, those thin blocks can remain if you open the world in newer versions. There were 5 of those thin water blocks in the map, but I removed 4 of them without knowing I couldn't reset them. I really liked that quirk, so I wanted to restore it, but it would have been possible only with a tool like MCEdit, which has stooped development many years ago. Luckily, a new tool, Amulet, let me do it, so now that quirk is back.
Unless the map considerably grows in popularity, this is the last update I will do, as I'm very happy with how the map turned out. Still, thank you for the support you showed in the first week, it's rare for a map of mine to get all this diamonds and favorites in only few days! I hope you will like this new update, enjoy!!

But It didn't work as smooth as I wanted and, since then, I stopped working on the map: too few people played it and I lost motivation, I'm sorry.
If you feel like it, you can spawn yourself some villagers; they won't interfere with anything in the park, so it's safe to do so.
Be sure to tell me if you release the video, I will gladly watch it!
