I have recreated one of my favourite maps from my second favourite game (after Minecraft of course!), Team Fortress 2!
The map is Hightower and includes the original game type from the map, Payload Race. I have attempted to make the map exactly to scale and I think I have mostly succeeded.
You do not NEED any plugins to play this map but there are some plugins which improve the gameplay which I myself have been using, here is a link to them incase you want to also use them:
- WorldGuard - Stop players from being able to break any of the map, especially the Cart which can be easily broken by arrows: wiki.sk89q.com/wiki/WorldGuard
- InfiniteDispenser (by Seth Bling) - This will, obviously, stop the dispensers ever running out of equipment: http://www.mediafire.com/?gr2ypgcoz6p6218
- NoHealthRegen - In TF2 health does not regenerate but unfortunately I could not add this to the game without plugins so for a more realistic experience I would suggest this. You do not need it to enjoy the map though: dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/nohealthreg/
- NoDrop - Stop players from kit mixing and the server lagging from the drops, this is more useful if you have players you can't trust to only use their given kit: dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/no-drop-death/files/1-no-drop-v-1/
Most information is given in-game at the starting area but here is some basic tips on how to play:
- Host must allocate each player a team, make sure these teams are even. Host must set the time to night to allow players to set their spawns on each side of the map.
- Players can choose their class by running through the doors, each one is signed with the name of the class.
- Team's are shown by helmets, Diamond = Blue, Leather = Red (Don't worry, the leather helmet is enchanted to be just like a diamond helmet!)
- Pressure plates are health packs.
- Push your teams cart to the end of it's obvious path to win the game. When your cart reaches the end a sound will be heard and the winner will be shown at the back centre of the map.
- When a team has won, the host will need to remove both carts and put them back at the beginning of the rail to prepare for the next round.
I hope you enjoy this map, I am working on a few other TF2 Maps with different game types so look out for those!
