The modern passenger main diesel locomotive TEP70BS with a capacity of 2942 kW (4000 hp) in a section, with a design speed of 160 km/h or 120 km/h and a centralized power supply system for train cars, has a modular design, which is adopted at the enterprise as the basic one for creating a unified a number of new locomotives.

A modification of the diesel locomotive TEP70BS has been developed with the possibility of operation on a system of two units.
